Website & Online Ordering Questions

Q. How do I find products?

There are many ways to find products on the site.  The Navigation Menu at the top of the page is split into major categories with sub-categories shown when the mouse hovers over the tab. The third level offers the option to shop by brand or accessories in addition to the product category. At all category levels filters on the right hand side enable the selected list to be reduced to items of interest.  Finally, the search box at the top right of the page enables keywords to return the most relevant products directly.

Q. Do I have to use the website to order?

Yes, the business is set up to be an online business only, we have made the process as easy as possible but please contact us with your suggestions for improvements at better@photogether.co.uk

Q. What is an order Wizard?

For digital art books because they are totally bespoke and made to order we have created a step through order wizard that allows you to build up and price your album by answering a series of questions. There are pop up windows throughout so you can see cover colours & personalisation options amongst other things as you progress. We will be developing a series of wizards for other products such as frames to make ordering as easy as possible for you.

Q. How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders for stock items placed before 12.30pm (Monday to Thursday) should be dispatched the same day for a scheduled next day delivery, except for Fridays, when delivery is scheduled for Monday. Note that next day delivery is not guaranteed. Products with a lead -time longer than 1-2 days are made to order, and therefore do not qualify for same day dispatch. These will be dispatched on completion of manufacture, as per the approximate lead times stated for the product. When you order please check each supplier’s terms and conditions, which are available to view at this stage and these will highlight any variations to the above.

Q. What happens if I'm not happy with my order?

If you are not happy with your order for any reason please contact the customer service team of the relevant supplier whose details will be on your confirmation email and they will work with you to resolve any issues.

Q. I live outside of the UK, can I still order online?

Yes, most of our suppliers are happy to accept orders from outside the UK; however, you will incur freight charges on all orders. Different rates depending on your location, details of which are clearly stated as you run through the order process. For further details of current rates please see each suppliers individual terms and conditions.

Q. How much will carriage cost me on my order?

All our suppliers offer carriage paid terms to UK customers (with some exceptions), i.e. no post and packing charges, on all orders over a set figure*. Orders below these levels incur post and packing charges, which are clearly stated at the time or order. Our system will alert you with a message before final confirmation of the order if you are going to incur any post and packing charges. Please note that the free delivery threshold is the net total before VAT and any delivery charges have been applied, NOT the final total for each supplier.

*Please note that your overall order total does not earn free delivery it is the order total with each supplier and you will need to check each suppliers terms and conditions to see their threshold level

Company & Product Questions

Q. Who are Photogether?

Photogether is a company based in Thame Oxfordshire, which is run by a team experienced in supplying presentation solutions to photographers. The company’s mission is to bring the best products and services to the photographer in one easy to use and convenient online store. We will also provide a place where photographers can make their thoughts and ideas known and can start to help influence the industry and the products that are made available by manufacturers.

Q. What is personalisation?

Many products available can be personalised. This is normally in the form of blocking or die stamping names on either the front of albums and/or mounts and folders.

Q: How do I know if a product can be personalised?

All products that can be personalised are clearly marked on the product pages.  Click the 'Personalise this item' button to add to your basket and complete the options to add the blocking details to the order. Costs for personalisation are also shown at this stage and again these vary between suppliers.

Q. What fonts can you block in?

More and more suppliers order in blocks to personalise products. There is usually a one off charge (£10 to £45) but once you have your logo in block form suppliers will hold these on file for future orders.  Most suppliers require your logo in PDF format that they will use to make a block from thereby allowing you to use any font you wish.

Q. What is the difference between a Post Bound and Book Bound album?

The two terms, post bound and book bound, relate to how the leaves fit into the album cover. For a book bound album there are a set number of leaves/pages in a block and most manufacturers provide these albums with different cover option. Some of these have the ability to have mats/overlays applied and some are self-adhesive where the product sticks to the page rather than being slipped in. Post Bound albums are designed to allow individual leaves to be added into the cover, which gives great flexibility as to how many prints are shown in any album as the number of leaves can easily be adjusted although they are often more time consuming to put together.

Q. What are Leaves and Pages?

Leaves and Pages are the same but different manufacturers have different terms. In both cases they refer to the number of display areas available.

Q. What is a Mat or Overlay?

A Mat or Overlay is the same product but different manufacturers have different terms. These are used to create apertures on a leaf/page when the leaf/page is bigger than the print. Not all albums require these as some are designed to have flush images but there are also some albums that require blank mats/overlays as the leaf/page is not designed to work as a finished item in its own right. Please check these against each manufacturers specification.
